What is the turn around on a customised poker table?

It is determined by several factors, including stock from our suppliers and current workload. The general turn-around is 6-8 weeks. We remain in contact via email with weekly updates & progress.
Why choose Ace and a Face for my poker table?

We believe in our product. The quality of tables we produce, far exceeds most other table builders. We specialise in quality craftsmanship, using only quality materials.

Our tables are not to be confused with the general folding/ebay tables available or those manufacturers advertising "premium poker tables", using sub-standard materials.

Each of our tables is unique and has a individually unique numbered plaque.

All our tables come with a completely finished wooden table underside.

When comparing poker table quotes, use the notes in this FAQ to check the quality.
How do i pay for the table?
A 75% deposit is taken for all bespoke tables, once the quotation is agreed. The remainder of the balance is due on completion.

I have ideas for the table that are not shown?
Whether it is a different shape, size or style. Lights, Logos or special requests, we will try our best to build your dream table.

Contact us with your ideas.

What wood is used?
All our tables are built using either Birch or Far Eastern 18mm Plywood, Cabinet Grade*

Far Eastern: Reddish in colour, with strong grain and beautiful detail.
Birch: light brown in colour, heavier in weight and nice grain detail.

We veneer every visible edge of the plywood to give the impression of a solid piece of wood.

Beware of other builders that are using chipboard, MDF or thinner/inferior plywood. They are more susceptible to warping and bowing. Whereas our tables are built to last.

* Unless otherwise specified

How customised would my table be?
Fully customised.

Each table is hand-made to the given specification. We try to incorporate every conceivable option a customer can request, whilst still giving advice, from experience, on what may work best.

  • Want it to fit on an existing table?
  • Want a customised cloth?
  • Want graphics or chips embedded in the racetrack?
  • Want each seating position lit and switchable during the game?
Consider it done! We have the means to make it happen.

Do not consider paying for a custom table if you cannot have input on how it looks or is built.

What about delivery?
We offer a delivery & installation service for each table. (* Price dependant on location).

Any table can be collected, where a demonstration on the construction will be given.

What is the cloth like?
We prefer using suited speed cloth.
grey suited speed cloth burgundy suited speed cloth bronze suited speed cloth green ultra soft velveteen purple ultra soft velveteen

If you are looking for the best playing surface, this is it. It is a superior playing surface to even most casinos' tables, specifically manufactured for the gaming industry. Many major casinos are now converting their tables to be covered in this cloth.

It is not called speed cloth for nothing. Cards glide effortlessly across the teflon-coated surface, making dealing a pleasure. This material will not pill or fluff. The pattern features a repeating Heart, Diamond, Spade, and Club. Each suit is inside a repeating Diamond Shaped Outline. This Diamond Shaped Outline is a 1 inch square.

Specifications:
  • 100% Polyester
  • Protected by Teflon Fabric Protector, which makes spillages easy to remove
  • Exceeds 30,000 Double Rubs
  • Passes Flammability tests (Bulletin 117E, UFAC, BIFMA, & NFPA 260A)
Other playing surface materials we stock are mini-suited & non-suited speed cloth, ultra soft velveteen & casino gaming suede.

We have different sample wheels available, to help you decide.

Tell me about the playing surface.
On all playing surfaces we use closed cell foam.
closed cell foam

Being closed cell ensures no liquids are absorbed, which gives extra protection and peace of mind should there be any spillages. The foam is firm enough to stack chips, but soft enough to peak at your cards.

Tell me about the padded arm rest.
For the arm rest (or referred to as the rail), we use high density foam for the padding.

Be cautious of table suppliers who use reconstituted, or anything other than high density foam. Whilst the rail gives a firm feel, the foam will degrade over time and will not retain it's shape.

Every rail is constructed of a single piece of foam and faux leather vinyl*. There are no joins in the foam or vinyl. Using single pieces of both foam and vinyl, gives a much better seamless appearance, as well as having longer lasting benefits.

The vinyl we use is a premium soft, "leather" vinyl it has the look and wonderful soft feel of expensive leather.

Other manufacturers will use foam joined together, so seams can be felt underneath and/or seams in the vinyl, which can tear and spoil the appearance of the table.

What is a racetrack?
A racetrack refers to the exposed piece of wood between the play surface and the rail.
mahogany racetrack oak racetrack walnut racetrack rosewood racetrack

It is used as a place to keep chips and even cupholders/ashtrays. Other decorative styles have been used for the racetrack; including incorporating logos, signatures, artwork and our favourite - embedding casino chips. Other styles include having a metal racetrack.

A racetrack table can have a little more impact, but it can make the table a little more impractical. It's down to personal preference. Having a racetrack table does increase the noise during play with people stacking and rifling chips.

A benefit of a racetrack is to have a defined line between the chips in and out of play, acting as a betting line, without having a customised cloth.

Each racetrack we produce is stained to match the table and varnished to protect the woodwork, giving a smooth, glass-like finish.

Table legs; what options do i have?
We offer different styles of legs to match the individuals budget & requirements.

Can i incorporate personal logos, themes or other images on a custom cloth?
Certainly.

What happens if someone damages my table?
We can repair or replace all parts.

We can recover playing surfaces or rails if damage occurs, or you simply fancy a colour scheme change.

You mention other sub-standard tables, how can i tell the difference?
Check for quality.

Do the other tables show any signs of poor workmanship?
wrinkles on rail wrinkles on rail cheap ebay table joined fabric on rail no foam or fabric

We have found that manufacturers advertising custom tables even at double the price of our tables, do not have the same quality of materials or finish as ours.

If a table is cheaper than ours, for the same specification, there is an obvious reason.

If in doubt, ask yourself these questions?

  • Do I have an input in the construction?
  • Can i see similar tables to the one i've specified?
  • How is the table constructed? - Using inferior wood or even MDF?
  • How is the table finished, even underneath?
  • Is the playing surface cloth sub-standard?
  • Is closed cell foam used for the playing surface?
  • Is high density foam used for the rail? Can i see samples?
  • Can i choose the cloth i want from sample wheels?
  • Is the manufacturer willing to incorporate my ideas to make my table unique?
  • Are there winkles, deformation in the rail?
  • Are there seams in the rail or joins in the foam?
